Five Swords at the Crossroads is a documentary film that explores the relationship between craft and creativity, the craftsperson and the artist. Filmed on location in Málaga, London, and Dublin, this film includes three characters: the luthier (guitar maker) Joaquín García, the guitar player Benjamin Dwyer, and the guitar itself. García has been crafting guitars for the classical guitars for over four decades, employing an individual approach, preferring to get to know the musician for whom he is making an instrument to become accustomed to the way the guitarist plays and to develop an understanding of the demands that each guitarist will make on the finished instrument.
